In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the “Point of 100 Sickness” refers to Baihui (百会, DU-20), an important acupuncture point located at the top of the head.
Baihui (DU-20) – The Point of 100 Sickness
• Location: At the crown of the head, roughly where the lines connecting the tops of the ears meet.
• Meaning: “Bai” (百) means “hundred,” and “Hui” (会) means “meeting” or “convergence.” It is called the “Point of 100 Sicknesses” because it is believed to help with a wide range of ailments.
• Functions in TCM:
o Lifts Qi and Yang, helping with fatigue and weakness.
o Calms Shen (spirit), treating anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
o Treats headaches, dizziness, and high blood pressure.
o Helps with mental clarity and focus.
o Supports brain function and cognitive health.
o Regulates prolapse (e.g., uterine or rectal prolapse).
